1. What do you think it means to be “real” or “fake”?
-What I think it means to be real is to be yourself and not act like someone you are not. What I also think it means to be fake is to not like yourself.
2. Do you think it’s easier for people to be “fake” online than in real life? Why or why not?
-Yes, I believe it is easier for people to be fake online than in real life because they feel like their real self is either not good or unimportant so they use a fake to make another self that they may appreciate or escape the problems they have.
1. Ramon talks about how some people exaggerate or seem very different online than in person. How do you explain these differences between their online and in-person personas?
-The differences between their online and in-person personas is that they are similar in some way like how they look buy some make a character that fits how they want to look and not how they actually look.
2. Are there risks for creating an online presence that is very different than the offline one? Are there benefits?
-There are certain risks for creating an online prescence that is very different than the offline one because people may tend to forget about reality and try to act like how the online prescence is and not act like a true human and live life. Some benifits would be that they may have fun in their online prescence and maybe then be happy in real life??? im not sure.
3. What are other reasons why people might feel they can act in ways online that they wouldn’t act offline?
-Some other reasons why people might feel they can act in ways online than that they wouldn't act offline is because they may feel if they act like themselves they would be judged negatively, while if they act online they might find similar people like them or if they are judged online it wouldnt really effect them because it is not the same as being judge face-to-face.
4. Are there any benefits to being anonymous or being less inhibited online?
-Some benefits to being anonymous or being less inhibited online would that people wouldn't really know you and if they become very angery at you they may not harm you in real life.
5. Are there risks involved with being anonymous or less inhibited online?
-You tend to leave your real life persona when you tend to be someone you are not (anonymous).
