1. What do you think it means to be “real” or “fake”?
-What I think it means to be real is to be yourself and not act like someone you are not. What I also think it means to be fake is to not like yourself.
2. Do you think it’s easier for people to be “fake” online than in real life? Why or why not?
-Yes, I believe it is easier for people to be fake online than in real life because they feel like their real self is either not good or unimportant so they use a fake to make another self that they may appreciate or escape the problems they have.
1. Ramon talks about how some people exaggerate or seem very different online than in person. How do you explain these differences between their online and in-person personas?
-The differences between their online and in-person personas is that they are similar in some way like how they look buy some make a character that fits how they want to look and not how they actually look.
2. Are there risks for creating an online presence that is very different than the offline one? Are there benefits?
-There are certain risks for creating an online prescence that is very different than the offline one because people may tend to forget about reality and try to act like how the online prescence is and not act like a true human and live life. Some benifits would be that they may have fun in their online prescence and maybe then be happy in real life??? im not sure.
3. What are other reasons why people might feel they can act in ways online that they wouldn’t act offline?
-Some other reasons why people might feel they can act in ways online than that they wouldn't act offline is because they may feel if they act like themselves they would be judged negatively, while if they act online they might find similar people like them or if they are judged online it wouldnt really effect them because it is not the same as being judge face-to-face.
4. Are there any benefits to being anonymous or being less inhibited online?
-Some benefits to being anonymous or being less inhibited online would that people wouldn't really know you and if they become very angery at you they may not harm you in real life.
5. Are there risks involved with being anonymous or less inhibited online?
-You tend to leave your real life persona when you tend to be someone you are not (anonymous).

2. You are cautioned to never post your full name, age, picture, or location online. Why is that? Are there other pieces of personal information that shouldn’t be shared, or other things that you should or should not do, in order to stay safe online? (TWO SENTENCES)
-You are cautioned to never post your full name, age, picture, or location online because if you post your picture and a age a child abuser may be likely to try to contact you. If you also give out your location many people like child abusers would be able to locate you and maybe harm you.
3. Do you have an adult that you trust and can talk to about online situations that make you feel scared, uncomfortable, or confused? This can be a parent, your teacher, or another adult that you would feel comfortable talking to. (ONE SENTENCE)

4. If you found out that one of your friends was making up stories about someone and posting them online, or sending nasty email messages to somebody, what do you think you should do? Stay out of it, because it’s not your problem, or tell someone who could talk to your friend about his or her behavior? (TWO SENTENCES)
-What I think I should do if I found out that one of my friends was making up stories about someone and posting them online, or sending nasty message to somebody, is to confront my friend and tell him to stop. I would not need to tell someone who could talk to my friend because if I just let someone else try to help him when I could myself try to help him I would not be a good friend.
5. What should you do if you get a “friend” request on a social network from someone that you don’t know face-to-face? (ONE SENTENCE)

How is it possible for this to happen? What implications does this have for the types of content you should post online? (TWO SENTENCES)
-It is possible that people would be able to see a picture even if they are not your friends when you set the picture to only friends may view it by being able to hack into your profile or having a friend that saw the picture and posting them on their profile and sharing it with others. The implications that this has for the types of content you should post online would be it being spread to other people and in return they would judge you on the type of picture it is and maybe deciding to choose you as target.

9. Discussion forums are online conversations that allow network members to contribute to the conversation any time and from anywhere that they have access to the networking site. Why is it important for members to feel like they can freely share their own opinions, even if their ideas or comments are different from those of other members? How can a sense of acceptance be developed? (TWO SENTENCES)
-It is important for members to feel like they can freely share their own opinions, even if their ideas or comments are different from those of other memebers because many people would like to be able to voice their opinion and have people actually hear or see what they are saying when others may not. Bullycide
I have amazingly learned many valueable facts and information from reading the article and watching the clip. I have learned that if you had bullied someone and in result from all the bullying they killed themselves, you would go to prison even if you werent there or physically tried to kill the person. I have also learned that if you post something such as a video or picture about someone and in return they kill themselve, you would be charged of invasion of privacy and other bias charges. After so much bullying, 45 states have enforced anti-bullying laws and Massachusetts has one of the most strictest one. With 1 in 5 students and 9 in 10 gay/lesbians-students are bullied each year.
After all i have read and seen they could have been many things people could have done or done differently to save the peoples life or solve the problems. If people would have been more sympathetic or put themselves in the shoes of the person they are bullying they would see it is harsh to bully someone and in return would no bully someone so much that it caused them to commit suicide. Though some people bully others because of how they are treated at home such as being beaten or harass and release their anger or frustation on the target, i believe that if the parent or however at home wasnt so mean and so how much negative effects they have on the children would make such a difference on if people bully others or not. I also believe that if the internet didnt have so much information on how to kill yourselves then not as much people would have killed themselves. Bullying is such a horrible crime, everything that helps increase the bullying such as gossip or physical abuse should be charged as a crime no matter what.

Perspectives on Cyberbullying
1. Have you ever had a conversation with someone when you had a different point of view? What happened? How did you feel?
-Yes i had a conversation with someone when i had a different point of view. We were able to figure things out better than her trying to figure her problem herself. I fell alright being able to help a friend.
2. Why is it important to understand someone else's perspective?
-It is important to understand someone else's perspective because even though you might think you did something wrong, someone else that saw the action or whatever can tell you their opinion if it was right or wrong and see if what u did or said was justified.

1. Are actions in an online community (like the slurs on the website) different than actions taken offline (like the notes left on Lyla’s locker at the school)? Why, or why not?
-Yes they are different. They are different because online would be public to everyone and offline would only be public to the people in the area where the slurs or actions are.
2. How are anonymous actions – like posting on a website or leaving a note – different from things done face-to-face?
-When you do it face to face, you may confront someone but if they leave a note or post it on a website then you may never know who did it and be less likely to stop the anonymous actions from continueing to happen.
3. Imagine you were a bystander at this school, watching this situation unfold. What do you think you would have done? Do bystanders have a responsibility to do anything?
I would have helped out the target and confronted the offender. No bystanders do not have any responsibulity to do anything.

Private Today, Public Tomorrow
1. Why do you think things posted online tend to persist, even when you prefer they didn't?
-They tend to persist because everyone has their own opinion to say so aslong as someone has something to say, then whatever you posted online will persist no matter what you say or think.
2. What kinds of things might be good for your reputation in the future if they are posted online now? What kinds of things might be harmful?
-Good things that may be good for your reputation in the future if you posteb them online are some friendly activities you may do to help people, children, or the environment.
-Some many harmful things that you would post would be your information, where you live, or pictures about you getting drunk, high, or even doing something illegal.
1. Do you think Millersville University was justified in disqualifying Stacy from earning her teaching degree because of her profile page? Why, or why not?
-I strongly disagree that Millersville University was justified for disqualifying Stacy from earning her teaching degree because of her profile page. I believe this because they invaded her privacy and though things on her profile page may be thing that aren't good things that doesnt mean she is not a good teacher or qualified to teach anyone. I bet the people at the Millersville University have done many bad things like drink alchol excesivly or use drugs but may not have posted it online for people to see. I believe they are hypocrits and didnt not have a good reason to disqualify Stacy.
2. How would the situation be different if the context of the photo were taken into account? For instance: What if the caption of the photo was not “Drunken Pirate,” but “Happy Halloween” or “My friend forced me to wear this pirate hat”? What if a post accompanying the photo said that it had been taken at a child’s birthday party and Stacy was drinking punch?
-It would make a different impression on someone if the context of the photo were taken into account. They would have believ oh she is just having fun and isnt a bad person. She is just having fun like any other person.
3. What if Stacy’s friend Joe had posted the picture of Stacy without her knowing it, and tagged her with the “Drunken Pirate” caption. Does the fact that Joe posted the picture change the situation? Why or why not?
-No, because it was still about her and it left an impression that she liked to get drunk.
4. Does Joe have a responsibility to ask Stacy before he posts (and tags) a picture of her? Do other people, including strangers who come across the photo online, have the responsibility to check with Stacy before they tag or repost the photo? Why, or why not?
-Yes, Joe or any other stranger has the responsibility to ask Stacy before he posts a picture of her, because it is part of her and it would invade her privacy hey didnt ask permission. Though however people will still do it and not ask permission and get away wit.
-They tend to persist because everyone has their own opinion to say so aslong as someone has something to say, then whatever you posted online will persist no matter what you say or think.
